This place is AWESOME. We came really late on a Sunday, at 8:40- they close at 9 but they were very welcoming and sat us outside on the patio. Oh my god, the view is breathtaking. Our waitress was very sweet, she recommended the shrimp appetizer which was delicious. I got the chef special sandwich with fries and a salad, my husband got the steak sandwich with fries and a salad. I thought everything was just wonderful, my husband thought that the steak sandwich was a little salty, but he is sensitive to salt and I did not agree. Everything was reasonably priced and the portions were way to large to finish there. I peeked over at the table next to me, looked like they all ordered pasta dishes which looked great. I would recommend this place even if it's a busy Sunday and you have a wait, it is worth it!

Based on reviews we decided to stop for an early lunch. they open at 11:30ish but they were open by 11:40. You walk intoo the place and it's like walking back in time. We decided to eat inside as the temp was in the 90's but the deck looked great. Although not outstanding the Reuben, Roast beef sandwich, beer menu, and service earned it 4 stars. There were other tempting options in Harpers Ferry but we are glad that we chose this one first. Cheers!

The fish and chips was a very good meal. My friends got and really liked the stake sandwich and Greek salad. They have a great beer selection. And the view from the deck is something to see.

Excellent service, seated immediately with a large party. Awesome service and huge portions. Definitely the place to eat with a view in Harper's Ferry.

visited on july 24. the interior reminded me of a hunting lodge. so we sat on the backyard deck, which was much nicer. i wasn't expecting much in terms of food, but the pastrami sandwich was surprisingly good, and the portions were huge. so big in fact that our entire lunch party could only eat half of what we ordered and we brought the rest home for dinner. would definitely dine here again.

Great service. Excellent sandwiches. There meat is all freshly cut in house. The Ruebens rock!

My friends and I enjoyed a leisurely dinner on the outdoor patio at Potomac Grille. The view is spectacular, especially during sunset. The only downside was the presence of some bugs, but that is nature's fault, not the restaurant's :) Our server was very friendly. As a Jersey girl, I loved the prices here. $5 drinks? Actual, real, name-brand $5 drinks, not during happy hour??! Sign me up anytime! The food was average - I tried the classic cheeseburger and fries, which hit the spot but was nothing special. The outdoor seating and affordable prices make this a good stop in Harpers Ferry National Park.

I liked the ambience of the restaurant, but the service took a lot of time. Food was average and nothing special about menu.

Great place! We were a party of 12 and seated immediately on a busy Saturday afternoon. Orders were taken by the super friendly and efficient, waitress - Tabby! Food was fresh, tasty and came out quickly. Highly recommended!

I have no idea how the food is because no one bothered to seat us AND they were so rude and the wait so long to get a table that we left. Granted it was a crowded weekend but one would think a restaurant would staff up on a lovely summer Saturday afternoon. We wandered in because the setting was lovely. We were told to wait for a table by one of the waiters and we waited and waited and waited. After about 15 minutes with a long line behind us and all patiently waiting, my brother asked a waitress about how long the wait was. (no true hostess was working) We appeared to bother the princess...err rather the waitress...because she was so rude in telling us we had to just wait right there and couldn't be bothered. OMG! Seriously..... NO thanks! We are happy to wait but there's no food cheap enough or good enough where rudeness is acceptable to 3 very nice people. We left and went to a lovely pub down the way and had wonderful food on the patio with a nice waiter!

Well, Harper's Ferry is a wonderful historical town, but figuring out where to eat in a town where Verizon phones basically don't have data (no Yelp?, yikes!!). Therefore, in the blind, we ventured into Potomac Grille. We went vegetarian. The veggie wrap was okay, but nothing to exciting. The chefs special vegetarian sandwich was amazing, fantastic flavors, delicious portabella mushroom, loved it! As far as the experience, we loved the very nice patio with a very nice view. They actually had WiFi, which was very helpful so I could draft this review! But, the slow and indifferent service was a bit of a turnoff. Still, not a bad bet for basic american fare.

Excellent place! Nice atmosphere, plenty of deck seating with a great view. We had the Reuben and Turkey sandwiches, which were excellent! All the good being brought out looked amazing. Local brews and a couple regulars like bud light, available in bottles. Fyi - No draft beer here. Staff was friendly, we were seated promptly, and didn't have to wait for any unreasonable about of time for anything.

They get two stars for the patio and fries, nothing else was all that impressive. This is a tourist place so they don't have to have excellent food to keep people coming in. Also, the night we were there they were short staffed (at 6:30) because they sent two servers home as they had previously been slow. That's a bad decision before 6:30 on a beautiful day when people are likely to eat later. Surprisingly though the service was pretty timely. The annoying thing was hearing this explanation given to every table. It just reminded me over and over that someone dropped the ball and I was going to be paying the price for it. I think the better thing to do would be to just get drinks right away, say we're a bit busy tonight so just enjoy the view and you're cold drink and know we will get you great food as fast as we can. Ok, this is customer relations school, I'll stop now. Back to the food, we got the falafel (don't recommend) and the burger (do recommend). The burger was just ok but comes with delicious fries, the best item we had here.

Overall I would say that we liked our experience here. Got the Reuben, it was a very good. The only thing I would change is maybe cranking up the air a little.

Chefs special sandwich with fries is highly recommended. It's vegetarian and delicious- especially bread. Very nice outdoor deck area and AC inside which is great for cooling off after coming off a trail.

Very scenic place . Overlooking train station so you get to see trains rolling by regularly . Portion size was large. Service very fine. They were busy. Had a couple of local beers. Wife had mushroom and Swiss burger that was great. I went with Fish and Chips which were cooked in a light batter. Would heartily recommend

Stopped by on our walking tour of Harpers Ferry. The deck overlooks the old train station and river. The staff is great, ice tea brewed on site, and the sandwiches we had were very well made.

The patio was full and I was alone, so I sat at a bar to avoid taking up a whole table. Staff was very friendly and attentive, even thought I was the only person inside. I got the Grecian pasta. The Alfredo sauce was a little watery but overall the flavor was good.

Setting is great. Old house with a very traditional and old world feel; could be intimate for a date night (we went on a Sunday afternoon). Service was average. Waitress made us feel as though she was annoyed that we had kids in our party (so did every other table at that time). Beer is bottles only and they do have some nice local/regional beers, however, at $5 each, not an ideal place to have a few cold ones after a hike or stroll through town. Food was good. My wife really enjoyed her veggie wrap/sandwich. My burger was average; however, I was only given the choice of having it cooked medium-well or well. Not sure if this was a restaurant policy, but I like my burgers medium or medium rare. Overall, probably wouldn't go back. Total bill was $150 for four adults and four kids; seems really pricey for lunch.

Outstanding Fish 'n Chips love the crispy crust. Great Rueben with the perfect proportions. Super fast service. Friendly staff. Can't wait to come back.

Super friendly staff. Cozy old cabin-esq interior. Could use more staff on busy days. Food was good, tasty onion rings and Reuben! Didn't have it but the chili looked really good...next time! No need to serve salad with the wraps, would offer chips or fries since most wraps pretty much have a salad in them! So many places seem to fall short in the area but this place gets it right.

Formerly The Secret Six Tavern, this is the new hole for good Harpers Ferry eats, and the premiere place to watch a train as well as get in a good drink/lunch if you decide to make a day at Harpers Ferry. A lot of the menu is the same, but the name is different, and so is some of the staff. But of course, I had to try it because I'm a fan of restaurants, and seeing this new place (always passed it, but reluctant because of my allegiance to the Secret Six and Private Quinn), but I wanted something new, something different. And besides, I was hungry. When I walked in, I found the place to be very similar to the Secret Six. Same ambience, same kind of seating. And even the menu (yes, already mentioned) was strikingly similar (but without my favorite pasta dish there). So after I was seated a kind young server (not American, but whatever) asked me what I'd like to drink, and I replied with a water and an oat stout (I had not tried one but yet was intrigued). After checking my ID, she went off with my drink order to fetch me my drink. As I browsed the menu, I was really looking for something I could compare to the other places, something that could determine one place over the other. Noting that "the best fish and chips in town" were down the street, I went with their fish and chips. The menu said it came with fries (duh), coleslaw, and hush puppies. For $13, I was sold. The price already for the food received I figured would be worth it. After my server came back with my drink, I ordered said item above and asked her about it as she walked away (she replied that it was really good, and that the batter they used was not the usually fry batter, but Yeungling butter beer batter). Knowing that Private Quinn uses the same kind of a batter for their fish, I was intrigued, but already excited for my lunch having a feeling this was going to be special. After waiting about 15-20 minutes (and looking around at what others had ordered to make sure I didn't order something that I thought I'd regret), and halfway down with my beer, the food arrived. Let's just start with this. The fish was huge, with a sprinkle of old bay seasoning on top with a garnish, the fries were a nice portion and looked well seasoned themselves, the coleslaw, while somewhat peppery and a bit heavy on the mayonnaise, was presented elegantly, and the hush puppies were aligned in prim and proper fashion, like they were waiting to be consumed (they were about the size of a small super ball). Taking the first bite of a new meal is always an exciting experience. It sets the tone for the rest of the way your meal goes. If it tastes good, then everything else can improve from it. If it stinks, then so goes my value. Once I took a first bite of the fish, I knew I had made the right choice. The batter, while very hot, had a wondrous mid-atlantic kick to it. The old bay seasoning complimented a wonderful aura that brought about many feelings to my tastebuds. The french fries, you could eat almost as potato substitutes. The hush puppies, I feared would be too greasy, were absolutely delectable. It was hard not to eat those all at once. The only downer was the cole slaw, which was a bit runny and didn't have much taste to it, but hey? 3 out of 4 items ain't bad (oh, and the beer was quite a hit too). I must admit, I left there feeling quite torn over which restaurant to prefer. Perhaps I have two restaurants to pick from the next time I'm back at Harpers Ferry, perhaps I'll just flip a coin to see which one I want (or check to see which one is busier). Remember, first tip of any restaurant; if its busy, or there's more than just you and one other person eating, than its probably good. Just remember to conserve your hush puppies.

Falafel in crispy, freshly grilled wraps and homemade tsaziki, with greek salad and chips. Very good. The falafel was moist and while not the best I've ever had, pretty good. Wrap was perfectly put together and proportioned. We biked there from Brunswick, had lunch , and then biked back. Nice view outside. Service was fine.

I wasn't really expecting much from the looks of the inside of the place but I was actually pleasantly surprised. I ordered the steak and cheese and it was delicious and it had a really good presentation; not just a bun with some meat and cheese. The steak was a little thicker than a normal steak and cheese and it was really good! I'd definitely come back on my next trip to Harpers Ferry

Excellent! Surprising to find such good food in a little rural tourist town. Spinach-mushroom wrap was great and came with perfectly done, mildly seasoned fries. The house-made crab cake was delicious. Service was good. Even indoors, a great view of the railway and scenic train station; the deck has an even better view. Prices are quite fair given the quality and location; we paid $40 including tip for lunch for 3.

Had the mushroom and blue cheese burger which was tasty and filling. The wife had the chicken Caesar wrap with dressing on the side and was happy with her choice. The Manu is a little small basically serving sandwiches but the prices are reasonable. The outside seating has a great view of the train station.

The sandwiches we had for lunch were fine but the service was extremely poor. With so many other places on the street I recommend going somewhere else. We and all the other diners were made to wait over 45 minutes for our lunches. Diners would periodically have to get up and find their servers to ask about when the food would arrive. Servers acted like diners were a bother. The manager obviously sets the tone for the restaurant's lack of courtesy -- he refused to come over when we informed our server that we would like to have a word with him.

Outstanding! We ate on the deck which had a very nice view and our waitress was very nice. Food was excellent - I had the falafel wrap, daughter had chicken quesadilla and wife has the steak sandwich. All three were very good. I don't think you will be disappointed with a visit here.
